Each year, 1Up aims to fill the backpacks of more than 150 children and teens from single-parent households. Relying completely on community support, our campaign begins in early June and continues until mid September.
There are typically 3 main ways to get involved:
- Community Bin – this is where your office can start a “community collection” of new and unused school supplies. Big ticket items include: binders, pencil crayons, thin-tipped markers, pencils, pens, etc
- Pack a pack – always a favourite, this is where you can “pack a pack” (or 2, or 3!) yourself!
- Financial contribution – and as always, financial contributions are appreciated. The more money we have on hand when the campaign year starts, the bigger the bulk order the Centre can make, the more children we can send back to school with fully stuffed backpacks!
